@AJay1125ful Star Wars may live on for centuries with more novels and movies and cartoons but quantity does not improve quality. It's still a lame story of magic wielders set in space and expanded across a galaxy. Star Trek is morality based exploration ingenuity driven problem solving stuff that appeals to intellectuals who like being intrigued and inspired. Star Trek clearly serves a much greater purpose than simply 'entertaining' people with explosions and magic.
Too bad you're not the authority on what is required when presenting omnipotent beings on screen. Its not your story, you don't have any say. They are represented as Omnipotent beings governed by members of the continuum who have the power to reign over their own residents. It's not up to any1 to determine they are or are not based on anything except the fact they say they are, except for Quinn who says (philosophically) that they have vulnerabilities.
@AJay1125ful Voyager crew was brought to the Continuum and armed with weapons created by the Q. Choosing not to eliminate everyone with a single thought does not determine whether they are capable. That's like saying the Emperor on Star Wars can't force choke Luke because he didnt when we know damn well he could have if he chose to.
@AJay1125ful "In a way, our vulnerability is what this is all about. As the Q have evolved, we've sacrificed many things along the way, not just manners, but mortality and a sense of purpose and a desire for change and a capacity to grow. Each loss is a new vulnerability, wouldn't you say?" <- from the mind of a philosophical Q who was tired of being immortal. His comment about not being omnipotent are suggestive, not meant to be taken literally.
Well it kills planets so yeah, but it doesnt take much to just move away from the dish where the weapon fires from. Fuckin DUH. Death Star is only good against 'stationary' targets. Dont park your shit in front of it and you won't have a problem.
@Thegangsta00711 Well Trek isn't very gangsta, but neither is harry potter or lord of the rings, which means Star Wars magic is kinda lame too. But the battle scenes are indeed pretty boss
