could you possibly post a video of you making one of these units and fully explaining it? because i think it would be more than helpful to any dcc railway modeller.

that's awesome. how about using small motors and placing them in the truck as traction motors? would free up space inside of the shell

HI Full instructions are contained on the website, rrcirkits, type "uncoupling" in the search box. The current limiting circuit is slightly different but the princple is the dame....john

hi I'm afraid its a scratch built device using a combiation of memory wire and a kadee coupler. The memory wire is activated by an output from the dcc decoder....John

very nice! BUT - does this rather fine coupling have the mechanical strength to keep a long rake of vehicles together? Seems a bit 'fragile', although as said, it's very nice and acurate being an actual 'buckeye'

It certainly works with a rake of 6 Bulleids which is as long as my platforms will accomodate but i cannot see why it shouldn't work with more

how much did it cost to make & how many have you made and fitted?

I have only made three, they cost only a few pounds in componants but quite a lot of time and patience!
