The Vietnam war as told by journalist of the time featuring Walter Cronkite. Courage Under Fire is the first in a series of vhs videos featuring Cronkite on Vietnam.
@CavalierHorseman91 CAV. Had this discussion with others. Shiite and Sunni hate each other. Saddam had an army and he used it as a WMD. The Kurds were gassed in the north. No he did'nt have NUKES but they aren't the only WMDs in existence. Do I think we (US) did the right thing? NO, not altogether. Be well CAV.
@mdupeYorkPa Allow me to set the scene York. Iraq before the invasion was a dictatorship, no doubt bout that. It isnt a utopia, but it had the next best thing, it had peace.Saddam kept all these different denominations of islam from killing each other, everybody had access to basic needs and everybody knew who is in charge. Then you came along, hunting WMDs that dont exist, order breaks down, Shiite kills Sunni and vice versa, basic needs now scarce, etc. Iraq is now a hellpit.
@CavalierHorseman91 CAV. I like you and don't want to argue but just one question. Could anyone have considered Iraq as a utopia before we "intervened"?
@shananagans5 Well, the perfect answer would be nobody. Everyone is different and live under different forms of government . That is how the world works, but nobody likes being told what form of government policies that they should adhere to. The superpowers are guilty of this, they force other nations to follow their lead. No one should be denied freedom, yet freedom is also earned not given. Iraq is a literal hellpit now and its because of your intervention.
I miss the days when the news was just the news. Nowadays "news" tries to tell people what to think & only gives you slanted information that will support what they want your perception to be.
To the idiots out there that want to bash the US.Think! In a world with 1 superpower, who do you want that to be? The US that wants freedom, fights aggression/evil dictators? Russia, to rule with an iron fist? China that supports N Korea? Seriously, who do you want? The US isn't perfect but who is better?
@mdupeYorkPa No doubt. These idiot kids get 10% or less of the info about something & make a judgement. Hating the US is the popular thing to do nowadays despite the fact that people all over the world are allowed to have an opinion & speak out about that opinion because of the US. In their little liberal minds everything can be solved with love, cooperation, flowers & thoughts of unicorns. They seem to think a nice valentines day card sent to Russia would have made everything wonderful.
@machetezone Missed a word on the earlier post. Another TEENAGED idiot posting something about times and events he can only read about. I lived them. I was there. If you have not been in the military you will never understand and you have no right to disrespect soldiers of any nation. Do your homework and go to bed now.
