@TheWhyer nope, completely legal, its better to get underhooks for control im guessing, but im no expert. using your hands for punching takes away from balancing and leaves you vulnerable

@TheWhyer It's MMA. punching whatever the position is ok, as long as its not back of the head or groin. When grappling is involved; striking becomes significantly harder to do as when you strike you can no longer defend leverage from someone grabbing you. Manhoef at 2:21 was just defending the takedown, no power in punches from that position too.

Is there a rule against them hitting each other when they're together? Like during 2:21 the black guy has a perfect opportunity to bunch the judo guy in the ribs, yet he does nothing. Is there a reason for this?
