Thai drug crackdown - 04 Mar 08

Thailand's new government is planning to revive a controversial drugs crackdown. Thousands of people were killed the last time it carried out such a crackdown. Critics say many of those were innocent civilians. Selina Downes visited relatives of the victims of one such raid.

Yes i agree with you.Now it is pretty unsecure for thaï people and foreigners, as it was nevr been in thailand and do you know why ? : yaa baah !! Many teft,murders,cheating,scam,bea­ting,fighting for almost nothing..Drugs dealers in thailand and addict, don't care for jail, they can sell or buy drugs inside.

Drugs are illegal in Thailand because of U.S.-authored treaties signed under the threat of sanctions. We have Nixon to thank for that. Now this is happening in Thailand, and critical watersheds of indigenous hemp have been destroyed in Bangladesh, worstening the floods there.

We need to built border fence and good security system to control the flow of illegal people because many also bring the drug in to Thailand.

Then you can start cleaning the house ( clean corrupted government and business man/ people). How will we do that?? we need to have better taxing system that how.

Just look up "Thaksin Shinawatra drug war" in Google for many links to human rights organization reports, photos, etc. of the 2,500 or more killings by the police and military death squads. Most were innocent of any drug involvement according to a Thai government panel. Wikipedia has lots of info and links to it all.

It was not that terrible!. The report didnt really get the situation and just followed the NGOs to the provinces to take video of these innocent looked people with whom I cant understand any single word they said.

I dont know what you think of it but I found the country much lovely and safer during the  drug crackdown period.
