You got the history completely wrong. Cigarboxes does NOT come from regular cigarboxes, infact they were around for a long time before WC fields, who by the way was not the one to turn them into Cigarboxes. They were blocks used in japanese balancing tricks, early performers was Gironimo Medrano who used them on a table, later they were used by Felicien Trewey who made them so popular they were even called "Trewey blocks" for a while. 1st to use them decorated as cigarboxes was Jim Harrigan.
@eriklao WC Fields is credited as making the cigar boxes popular to a wide audience, and known for having been "inspired" by Jim Harrigan. An abbreviated version, we admit.
Did Gironimo Medrano juggle/manipulate boxes or just stack and balance them? Are you referring to Boum Boum? Gintaro was something!
Your details of cigar box history are very good, and worthy of their own entire video. Thanks for adding them.
