Papantonio: God Loves American Unions

President Obama struck a deal with labor unions to exempt their insurance policies from being taxed under his healthcare plan. This has the GOP crying "favoritism", but as Mike Papantonio points out, this is really just Obama returning to his progressive roots.

Fox viewership is about 1.4 million a day...

Union membership...15.3 million in 2010.

So...how can Fox claim to represent America more than the unions?

By this criteria the number one representative of America is teenagers on the internet posting pictures of donkey dongs.

The mainstream media takes for granted how much it represents the populace. The internet trumps Fox, CNN, MSNBC...all of the corporate media outlets.

There are more corrupt people in government today. I can care for myself just fine at a fraction of the costs government employees demand. And i'll add, the private sector would never have built any of these systems. The couriers charged by the mile and if they're making good money already why invest millions in a system that could cut into profits by speeding up delivery.

Did you ever eat bad meat, were you forced as a minor to work in a mine, ever get a water-borne illness, did your father ever lose a body part in an unsafe factory. The govt. come up with the idea for the transcontinental railroad, the interstate highway system, and the Panama Canal increasing the flow of goods across boundaries. I'd say they do a good job at facilitating commerce.

@trajan74 : The income tax was installed in 1914 PRIOR to WW One. The 16th Amendment was "passed" in December 1913. Notice how the international bankers forced America's hand in becoming involved in WW1. WW2 was just a continuation of WW1. In fact, the Treaty of Versailles guaranteed a WW2. We don't need government. Government doesn't produce wealth, or prosperity for the citizens.

We got the income tax in 1913, before WW2. Prior to the income tax our country was funded by excise taxes on things like alcohol and tobacco and by import tariffs. Go pick up a historty book.

@Scardy: And just WHOM created the Great Depression? It was the Federal Reserve System, and it was done intentionally. 1) Create a crisis; 2) Propose drastic reforms for a remedy. 3) Lobby your paid-for-lackeys in Congress to pass it, or else! The only hiring performed over the past 30 years have been in government jobs. The PRIVATE SECTOR funds these government jobs, but they've all been off-shored. This is why state governments are broke, and the national gov is running on borrowed time.

Are you kidding? Right before the second world war we were in the midst of the worst financial crisis in American history! The 30s were famous for the Great Depression. The forties and fifties were a fantastic time for the middle class.
