Tales of Rebirth (subbed) Claire Side Part 38: Exchange

A couple of random notes for this segment. Yottsua doesn't have an accent persay, but his speech is a tad unusual so that's why you'll see some odd quirks in his dialogue.

Also, the game says that Jibel's house is across from the item shop, which is true. However, it can be a tad confusing if you don't realize that the item shop is actually located on the second floor of the building that sells accessories. Not a huge deal, but Balka's a big place and it takes a while to poke your head in every house if you don't know where you're going.

About some of those skits that you see before you leave to go search for Hack...the skit that you get depends on who is in your current battle party, which is why you see me change my setup twice. You get the first one when you have Tytree in your group but not Hilda. The second one is triggered when you leave Eugene and Annie behind (i.e. take Hilda and Tytree with you). The third skit comes up when you leave Tytree behind. Just thought I'd mention it since I missed two of them my first time through the game.

And I managed to trigger the hi-ougi Embrace End this time too. Woohoo! Too bad Veigue says the exact same thing at the start of the battle that he did the last time I recorded a hi-ougi...

Hurrah for Embrace End (Final Embrace)! But, is it alright to leave Annie of all people behind? She IS your only healer/supportive character, right?

You don't have a restricted party for very long, so I just went with my usual team: Veigue, Eugene, Tytree, and Hilda. The next segment isn't up yet, but you'll see that I did pretty well even without her. ^^

Oh good! I find it difficult to come up with the battle quotes since more times than not, they sound kind of stupid when I translate them. It's too bad that I can't seem to record the funnier ones though...

I know what you mean about translating some battle quotes... it's like you know exactly what they mean while saying it but there's no way to translate it into English without it sounding weird, like it's missing something. But you do a great job. :DD For Mao's end battle quote I'd probably just have translated it to "And I wasn't even serious yet!" or something but... it's all weird. LOL.

Yeah, usually I'm just going for the "Would this be something that this character might actually say?" type deal. And I know that I minced some of them because I couldn't understand what they were saying *coughEugenecough* or I just couldn't think of anything better *coughVeiguecough*. So anyway, take battle dialogue with a grain of salt and a sense of humor. ^^

I love how the game devellopers thought to make the voices echo slightly in the cave... It sounds really realistic like that.

I don't know why, but I absolutely love the way Mao said "Ah Tytree! I'm going to tell on you!" Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I talk at that pace sometimes...
