The mech fight brings back some serious Power Rangers; Wild Force (GBA) vibes. (At the end of each stage, there was a mech fight.)

This fight can be surmised to a one-sided rock-paper-scissor game. The boss only has about three different attacks, and each one leaves him intentionally wide open for pummeling him. I've beaten him in under a minute without getting hit.
What I'm trying to say is, FUCKING JUMP KICK WHEN HE BLOCKS!
