The original Downtown 81. Sometime around early 1979 Walter Steding said to David Schmidlapp, " Let's make a movie" "About what? " " A new kid in town ,who checks out the scene and never sees any day light."
" and who's also looking for a girl?" Later in the year David befriended a ten year old wayward, Andre Sykes and he became the lead in this underground classic. This is the Mudd Club scene , Walter Steding, Tricia Gruen,Lenny Ferrai, Claudia Summers, Barbara Edon, Lisa Depe, Edo, Glen O'Brien-- " available light there was"" a dream of a love story" - "a love of a dream"
