the splitting globes were made with metaballs, right? or what were they made with? and what program? Thanks, Xenos R. Drake.

They were meatballs as a matter of fact! I was expirmenting with applying textures to them so I just used an earth texture. The software I used is called "True Space 3". It's pretty good but I later gave it up for "Blender".
