  • This method doesn't work. I tried it several times and found it is better to make a small stack of kindling, under a few logs. Then put newspaper under the whole thing and light it. Works like a charm!

  • Or you can scrape kindling off a piece of log.

  • This vid hides a few cheats... The log placed on top has been moved back at 1.43 (viz 1.32) and there is more kindling under the fire-rack / basket. Placing the log on top would choke the kindling and not allow the temperature to get high enough for that big log. And the flames from the kindling underneath (added off film) are keeping the gases alight. You're not an expert if you need to change things off camera.

  • DAMMIT, MY HOUSE BURNED DOWN !

  • Why to learn how to start a fire you just start it most people now how just pout small woods then bigger then bigger and the bigger it's not a thing that should be taught

  • good ol' expert village,. 6 videos to show one damn thing,. hits galore! they no fools,. lol

  • Ok. I see people saying some mean unnessesary things. I think you guys should post and show how it's done. If the fire lit in a couple easy steps, how is it done better? In one step? IJS

  • I'ma try this.... ;)

  • lol what a loser. youre not supposed to "lock the heat in" your supposed to allow air to flow through there, and not lay the pieces of wood directly on top of each other cuzz there wont be air flow... im a 15 year old girl and i know how to make fires better than this guy.

  • this is a prety disapionting video, starting fires are extremely easy, and this is not a very good method.... it also seemed very odd how the flames started up like that...ever placed fire next to a large piece of wood?...it takes ages to light... but this one goes strate up...not convinced, best way is simple old flint, very dry old twigs, then build it up larger to a final nice fire.

  • That doesn't work at all. We don't see what happened in between the time the soft wood was lit till the time wthe blazing fire began. This doesn't work at all
