  • @rfnalex1 this is a hand art. I don't think it's the original subak coz subak disappeared during the late joseon period and taekkyon barely survived. the guy who revived it just infered

  • @southbest05 kendo is not korean. gumdo is not korean. korean swords were banned during the occupations, so not many sword techniques survive. the only surviving techniques are in bonguk taekkyon. hapkido is a derivitive of some japanese art. taekwondo is shotokan with lots of kicks and definitely does not have taekkyon since taekkyon was only lin seoul during that time and the tkd creator was from the north. korean arts have disappeared during the joseon dynasty and occupation

  • @MadMonk108 gicheon is just the korean character reading for some other chinese art

  • @fixboy87 You really shouldn't post here again. Just warning you.

  • @anhkhoinguyen Plz don't say this shit anymore. Is Japan only the country used curved sword? And where is ur evidence? Weapon skills has to be developed to improve its efficiency, and is invented by Mongolians, hence they are the origins. Korean Gumdo has many derivatives like Musa(warrior in Chosun dynasty), Hae-dong(Hugely Japanese influenced), as well as one-hand gripping gumdos. Korean gumdo has many spins to use more on kicks, taekkyon attacks where as Kendo is more for straight slashes

  • can't you tell.

  • Gicheon & Seonmudo's history have never been documented either.

  • ssireum korean wrestling and korean achery one of the oldest. theres also some interesting styles like Gicheon and sunmudo that are old korean styles still taught today, should look it up.

The rest are either made up or have heavy japanese influence. ur right tho taekkyon is registered by the goverment as an intangable national asset, so theres no doubt about that style being as pure korean as kim chi is.
