    Safer says here that the op. "netted 4 old men", but it's clear those four prisoners are not old men. But I concur in his overall view that burning down villages was not going to win hearts and minds.

    Do not believe this journalism! Safer neglected how many Marines were wounded from sniper fire coming out of Cam Ne prior to this operation or how much Communist contraband was found there. Read an account by someone who was there, Frank Cox, who authored "Lullabies For Lieutenants" for the truth.

    Typo fool. Safer didn't have to stay in the area and we did. Cam Ne was a tunnel complex and HQ for the VC. The village was a cover for the complex and nothing more.
