The City of Norway, Michigan "Legal" Bathroom Camera..

This is at Strawberry Lake Park in Norway, Michigan a city owned bathroom which serves the public in this park. It also double for a changing room for the local school track meets and also Ice Skating and Hockey Players.

I found these cameras quite disturbing and "tried" to report it, I did and was told they were owned by the city. I was also told that they have every right to place these cameras in the public restroom, that they wouldn't remove them.

I thought this was illegal in most states, but not in Norway, Michigan. They said these are in place to fight vandalism in the bathrooms, the only problem I see in the US Constitution. The playground at the beginning has been damaged an many occasions, no cameras there.. Nor is their a camera watching the dirt bike track where kids might get injured.. Ask the city yourself-

Why not put up cameras down the road at the apartments to watch for kids buying meth? or hey put up some fiber-optic faggy spy shit at the ice cream parlor to watch for kids dropping their Neapolitan cones on the sidewalk.. I am a local resident and they did this because there was a lot of vandalism done to the bathrooms. They cannot see in the stalls. They are there just to prevent kids from breaking public property and I have no problem with it.

Then why not put these camera's outside then? How many children play hockey or other activities and then change with-in view of the camera? Our right to privacy has been broken no matter what your excuse is.. Also what is there to vandalizing inside and also what stops them from vandalizing the outside where there are no camera's?

They are trying to keep tabs on everyone and it is perfectly legal as long as the cameras are not pointing in the stalls. If you don't like it don't use the bathroom. Its not like they watch all the footage. They only turn to the cameras if something happens
