Australia - Free Anzac Day and Remembrance Day music.

Australia - Inspiring military remembrance music video. Music video - ANZAC Day - Remembrance Day.

Report from THE AGE newspaper online 21st June 2010: Three Australian soldiers have been killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan, just a fortnight after two other diggers died in a roadside bomb blast in the war torn country. Ten were on board the chopper, Defence Chief Air Marshal Angus Houston told reporters. The soldiers are attached to the Special Operations Task Group and there are "a number of casualties", the department said in a statement.

Private Ben Chuck, Private Timothy Aplin, and Private Scott Palmer, were killed when the helicopter they were on crashed on its way to a mission south of the Australian base at Tarin Kowt. They were part of the Special Operations Task Group drawn from the Sydney-based 2nd Commando Regiment. The three commandos had been to Afghanistan on previous tours. Seven other Australian soldiers were injured in the crash and two remain in intensive care. The deaths bring Australia's casualty toll in Afghanistan to 16 since 2001.

The military history of Australia spans several centuries and includes Australia's involvement in wars. Australian troops were involved in many of Britain's wars from the late nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century, including WW1 and WW2. Australians later took part in Korea, Vietnam, and other regional conflicts. More recently, forces have been deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. Australian troops have also served on several peacekeeping missions, including East Timor.

Australia has had peacekeepers in the field with the United Nations continuously for over 50 years. In Indonesia in 1947, Australians were part of the very first group of UN military observers anywhere in the world, and were, in fact, the first into the field.

Over 100,000 Australians have died in military service. In WW1, 60,000 were killed and in WW2, 40,000 died.

Thanks to Barry in Canada for the Australian flag animation. You can visit his YouTube home page at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=SteelyD
Barry allowed the flag animation to be used at no cost on this video. He sells national flag animations on DVD. His youtube homepage is well worth a visit.

The song is popular for Remembrance Day and ANZAC Day.

Can you hear Australia's heroes marching?
Can you hear them as they march into eternity?
There will never be a greater love
There just couldn't be a greater sacrifice
There just couldn't be

Lest We Forget.

  • Cannot wait to enlist into the Army. Proud and honoured to be Australian.

  • Wattlebough how old are you? Isnt it typical to slam something that is senitimental and represents a time that passed and young men who never came home. They were sacrificed. Now go listen to some rap and sing along with all the amazing lyrics that respresent so much history and talk hoes, pmips, killing cops, bitches, muthfkr, etc etc such true sentiment.

  • "Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives... You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side now here in this country of ours... you, the mothers, who sent their sons from faraway countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land. They have become our sons as well."
