I am against public funding of education, student loans, social security (because the gov't can't implement it correctly) and medicare/medicaid, and Income tax. I don't think the government should steal from the producers and give to the non-productive. They can go on building highways, however - that is the one authority granted to them by the Constitution.

Here is why you are an idiot. Most Americans do think we should all have ACCESS to affordable health care - not free health care that somebody else pays for. Returning veterans actually give something in return for the higher education - they do not get it free at the expense of others. The war in Iraq is an entirely different argument and has nothing to do with why he is a Progressive. You are an moron. I bet somebody else pays your way.

So are you calling our founders extreme right wingers? The amount of taxes we pay to the federal government now is more than double the percentage we paid in taxes to the british before we went to war with england to end british rule and those high taxes. Our founders never intended thiscountry to become a welfare state. The only difference between now and then is technology. Social programs are theft. And many scholars know it is theft. But the government wont let go of that tyranical power.

Well, constitutional scholars and 200 years of jurisprudence disagree with you. Congress has the right to issue bills which the President can veto or pass into law. What I find amusing is that you began by stating that Franken only represents a tiny, left-wing fration of the population. It's now apparent that you occupy a far right-wing view shared only by an extreme few. It would appear yours are views not widely held, as opposed to Franken's.

The war in Iraq is a completely seperate issue VS. big government control and regulations of our lives and freedoms through massive marxist income redistribution and theft of our hard earned property so some leftist wack in washington can feel good about himself by taking money from someone else for his own social program.

Any federal social program is unconstitutional. The federal government derives no constitutional powers to provide Socialist programs. Public education should be left to the states not the federal government. We need to disband the Federal dept of education. And yes we need to get rid of Medicaid and medicare. If you want to help someone who is sick, donate your own money to charity. I would rather donate to charity that have the money I worked hard for stolen from me.
