you cant fell trees for shit, your fucking useless cunt.come to n.z where the real bushmen are
-
I don't know about using a plunge cut on a tree whose diameter is longer than your bar.
-
this isnt the middle of the woods.i do this stuff also.i make less mistakes than most doctors.this is precise work.not just getting it to fall one way or the other.i dont know what most of these people do but i bet they dont have pressure of knowing you can kill or injure people every day.how would you deal with it if you smash someones house?what if the tree was wind shook and things went bad.no rope you are screwed.if you have a rope om it it could save someone.leave this to the professionals.

You should make your pie from top to bottom. No pinching of the blade. You made something easy look complicated.
-
A simple back cut would've worked just fine. Why the half inch pull line?
-
oh god when you were putting in your first cut and u speed up the video i thought your saw fucked up haha till it said 2x speed
-
why cant you take half inch cable tie to big truck pull slow and not do front wedge cut or may be wedge but not plunge .you did excellant job was wondering if tree went wrong way would that small rope snap
-
a rope come a long is the way to do it.no vehicles.machines running too much noise causes lack of communication.i have pulled huge trees the wrong way with them.that is if ur not to lazy or scared to go to the top.leverage is a wonderful thing.i can pull a tree with the come along that a skidder cant with there chain on it fifteen feet up the tree. isee it happen all the time.now they know and call me.

if your cuts are good enough why need the rope? didnt they teach you directional felling?
-
@murphy4trees I understand, I also have felling video which is só outdated I hope ppl don't find it. :p Thankfully that means progression!
I would never tie the rope to a vehicle.. Íf the tree falls the wrong way it will always win because of inertia and shear mass. Not only you have a tree falling in the wrong direction (which is reasonably avoidable) you now also have a rope zipping around, and pieces of metal, or the entire vehicle itself flying trough the forest (Teacher of mine saw it happen once...).

@Mueiwark I actually feel embarassed by this video, In that I would never cut a notch that big these days. There has been a lot of debate about pulling with trucks/loaders in the online forums. I would never go back to pulling by hand with MA.. NO WAY.. pulling with equipment is not only easier, it offers a lot more flexibility in approach and planning etc. As with almost everything in this biz, if you don't knwo what you are doing, you can get into a bad situation.
