More of my reconstruction of this missing Dr Who episode, using telesnaps, screen captures, publicity photos, video clips, some very simple animation and the original audio track.

A narrated version of the audio is available on CD from BBC Worldwide. And episode one is on the Lost in Time DVD.

  • I see Anne shares her father's low opinion of reporters (see also The Abominable Snowmen).

Good use of the tiny snippets of surviving footage (flipping and panning shots, etc) to get maximum mileage out of them.

The sound is rather noisy towards the end where you've removed the narration. Perhaps you could get the ambient hum from elsewhere in the narrated version instead, for better quality sound.

All in all, though, this is so much more than a standard tele-snap recon.

  • Good point about the noise. But like I've always said, I know even less about sound editing than I do about video editing, so there'll always be some audio drop-outs or noise, at the edits.

I *did* eventually use that "ambient hum from elsewhere" trick later in this episode, so I could go back and do an updated version of this part using it.

But I really, *really* didn''t like working on this part, and I'm not in any hurry go revisit it (or even rewatch it) any time soon.

  • @SpotxSpot I like irony when it doesn't bite you in the ass.

  • It's a great recon but in the battle scene Lane is the soldier standing up. The one lying down is O'Brien who gets killed.

  • Let me guess... the Yeti clips were censored because they were too scary, and that's why they survived.

    Don't you love irony?

  • The way the yetis walk down the tunnel reminds me of that bit in the Holy Grail where Lancelot keeps running on the same spot. You know what I mean...

  • It's certainly a tough one to do, this Doctor-less episode.
