  • @FDFPi1 Fabulous! Our boy is now almost 6 years post diagnosis. There is hope. We wish you 16 year old kitty the best.

  • My cat has no teeth. ( He's 16)

  • @FDFPi1 I am sorry to hear that. Our boy lost 2 teeth a couple of years ago but is still going strong at 19.

  • A lot of kitties don't like the prescribed renal diets. In my opinion it is most important to make sure they eat SOMETHING, even if it isn't low in protein. As long as she is maintaining her weight . . . it sounds like you are on the right track. If her kidney values go up, ask your vet about a phosphorous binder.

  • I wish i might have come across something like this earlier! We have to put my poor little kitty down tomorrow as a result of chronic renal failure... Will miss him :(

  • @huxwaks I am so sorry to hear this. CRF is such a devastating diagnosis and it leaves you feeling helpless. My thoughts will be with you both tomorrow. Hugs from Jock and me.

  • Damn advertising.

  • Did you take Jock to get his teeth cleaned and if so how often? My calico passed away back in 06 at the age of 19. I didnt start getting her teeth cleaned until the last 6 years of her life. I kinda beat myself up for waiting that long but at the time i hadnt even heard of CRF

  • @lacox702 My cat is still going strong althoe, we onley give him canned food

  • wonderfu! my cat has the same dignosis. I administer him drippers under the skin twice a week

  • @scandia61 sí you need to keep feeding water and wet food tablet sub-q protein diet

  • Does anybody have a kitty who refuses nf food? I've tried every brand imaginable, but my kitty wants what her daughter gets. She is eating regular wet food well, and maintaining her weight. I give her sub-q fluids every other day.
