I have been riding on the back since I was 8 but on my own when I turned 50. It's amazing to me the ignorance of who we all are for the most part. Simply because we are on two wheels we are all meth heads or drunks or trash or whatever. I am a college educated businesswoman, a mother and grandmother for gods sake but I have had things thrown at me while riding yelled at flipped off. Why? All because I am on two wheels? THAT is ignorance plain and simple
I say we start a movement of riders packing heat, so we can shoot at these dumb SOBs in cages. Once word gets around, maybe motorists will think twice about how they drive around us. All in favor?
Wife and I got hit April of 2010, putting me in a helicopter with a shattered pelvis and knee, and the wife in an ambulance with multiple internal injuries. All from someone cutting the curve on the inside. While we both recovered and ride again, it haunts us daily. You have my respect as a rider my friend, God was on your shoulder. I hope one day the bitch that hit you gets his/hers in the end. Props my friend. Be safe.
the problem is the licenses are given out like chocolate here in the US. you can take the test in 8 languages here. Sorry, ENGLISH only IMHO. there are SO many people who shouldn't be driving. And the consequences for things like you accident, and even mine, the drivers just drive off.. mine at least asked if i was ok, then got back in his van and drove off. didn't matter i could barely move my left leg much less if my bike was even mobile.
i ride a 05 Yamaha Roadstar, here in LA and surrounding areas. many times in 06 and 07 i took that exit from the 10.had a full time job in Santa Monica. it's an extremely dangerous exit. i've seen so many A-hole's do stuff like what happened to you. Riding the freeways isn't any better. I ate the side of a minivan on the 5 this Wednesday. luckily, i braked fast enough to slide into him sideways. i actually didn't go down. miraculous. didn't break a thing..bent some stuff. sore as hell.
Dear Rueben, I wish to send you all my love and respects to you and your family for continued healing...for your suffering has left its toll on your body, but not in your heart. This is very evident, with regard to your time and effort you put into this moving-beautiful video of your tragic day. Im very touched by the soulful song you choose. I am a blues drummer, love Eric B! Can I help out in anyway? Please feel free to ask, I work as a Flat Track Motorcycle racing photographer...God Bless U-2
