@QuadThreat85 Graf does appear to be the execption and could master all surface but what you are saying is very true seles and lendl on grass are two excellant examples I believe it strengthens Grafs goat claim was her ability to play on all surfaces ,The way she got that way was a billion hours of practice with her work ethic and perfectionism meant she spent days weeks on practicing before touraments not a lot of players have that commitment these days

@QuadThreat85 i dont agree graf had no competition aranxta was like a bulldog on the court she would never give up and was very tenacious gabi was grafs old sparring partner from way back and to a lesser degree hingis and davenport were on their way up .Of course there was also seles nav and lloyd she did have a lot of competition and i believe the reason why people believe she didnt was because her and seles were so much better than anybody else

@Hoffenheim08 Samantha Stosur....there's a perfect example in the modern game. She had to basically quit playing doubles in order to get a singles slam. Maybe Steffi was smart in a sense...because she realized early on that she would be lucky to have 12 singles slams let alone 22 had she focused on doubles as well...

once again, this is all why Martina is over her, and why Shriver's accomplishments are over those lucky one singles slam wonders that you think are SOOOO GREAT!
