"Jens' Duct Taped Pants" Part 1 Brian Swartz & The Gnu Sextet with Bob Mintzer

This is a video of Los Angeles based trumpeter Brian Swartz with his band The Gnu Sextet with special guest artist, saxophonist Bob Mintzer. The band is playing Swartz's composition "Jens' Duct Taped Pants." Because of the length of the performance I have broken the video up into three parts, this being the 1st of 3. Taken at Vitello's in Studio City, California on Sunday, April 18, 2010, The Gnu Sextet was the closing band for the Los Angeles Jazz Collective's Spring Jazz Fest 2010. Please excuse the recording quality, it was done with an inexpensive camera in a dark club. Unfortunately, my camera ran out of memory at the end of this song, although all of the solos can be heard. The restatement of the melody at the end is cut short.
