This is a video of how I have my air cooled PC set up. Normally, the 6400BE runs pretty hot as it is, and to get any sort of overclock on this 90nm chip, you need to pump tons of voltage into it, which of course results in more heat.

With this setup, not only does my cpu stay cooler than some watercooled setups, but all other components inside my computer stay cool as well. For example, my video cards stay 15-20 degrees cooler than they did with my previous setup. I went from a 70C average load temp to a 50C average load temp. That's pretty significant.

(PS Near the end of the video, I say, "When I set it to stock cooling, it runs 20C idle and 30C load." What I MEANT to say was, "When I set it to stock SETTINGS". Sorry. But I didn-t feel like re shooting the entire video just to change that.)

For those of you who don't know, AMD cpus run much hotter than Intel cpus. And this is AMD's top dual core chip, so you can imagine how much heat it generates! But this setup cools it perfectly. I have been able to reach the overclock limits of my cpu, and still have another 10C of temperature to play with before it hits the danger zone of 60C!

  • Best Air Cooling setup you can get , wrong, this is crap.

  • @Siltwarrior *whispers* This video was four years ago. Obviously, computers have come a long way since then. :)

  • what is that program or w/e that showed you all the temps of ur hardware?

  • @brokenjohnny Fuu, i dont saw this, sry man. But self in 2008 you can turn the CPU cooler XD

  • @wasssabio Wow, your old, hot CPU magically runs colder than anyone's ambient room temperature? You must live in Siberia. I bet when you spit it freezes before it hits the ground.

  • @ukjamie96 I did. Seems that when fresh, cool air is moving past every component through every available opening, all parts of the PC stay cooler. And it seems when warm air is being swirled around the insides of the case, it's hard for dust to get in, and heat to get out.

  • @MildGamer001 You're telling me. I built this bastard in a mid tower case back before modular PSU's existed. The thing didn't even have a backboard for me to loop the wires behind. *laughs* Amazing how far we've come in 3 years.

  • @Zoowey07 Dust was a HUGE problem with this setup. Low Pressure may technically cool the case better, but you're gonna have to dust it out once a month.

  • @limedesign2 The neon was some shitty multi-colored LED bar that I got from a local PC store. It can change to half a zoen different colors, or cycle between them all. I kept it blue because most of my other case fans have blue LEDs in them. But you can find great computer neon lights at almost any site that sells parts. Google it up!

  • @deadfishdood Really? You're running an AMD 6400BE processor OC'd to 4Ghz? I'd absolutely love to see your CPU-Z screenshot of that.
