  • question how do you find out when trains come??? like the schedule

  • Experience, my friend. Many hours of sitting and waiting, writing down train numbers, times and locations. Plus some help from company timetables and sometimes...yes, ATCS. Ooooooooohhhhhhh!!

    :-))

  • Great job, Danny. Nice catch of the very rare K974 that somehow flew under the radar of both Tim and me, and of the usual suspects and my personal favorites, Q452 & Q453. That spot in the parking lot of First Choice looks really good. Five stars and Fav'd... I gotta know --- Did you plan your outing to coincide with the final move out of Coronet or did you just get lucky that day? ;-)

  • Both 974 and the Coronet move were just dumb luck. Coronet happened on May 9th and several of us were out for "National Train Day".

The job caught my attention when they came around the Lake Wales Jct. going south. We chased them down to the Coronet storage track and watched the whole movement.

  • Did the defect detector at Kathleen go off as soon as the train hit it? I thought they went off as soon as the train passed over it.

  • Most DD's will announce an ID when the first axle rolls over. Then, when the train has fully passed they report.

At least this is how it is ON CSX.
