There are a million videos on how to repair the 360 out there on YT and the net and here is one more to add to the pile.
In this video the biggest emphasis on how to repair what the title says basically comes down to the TIGHTNESS OF THE SCREWS, many people don't realize that due to improper tighness on the gpu and cpu heatsink screws can lead to all of the stated above problems. Recommended that you go down to your local hardware store and find some 5x10 fine thread philips screws and some small washers that will fit over the screws, go to your local pc store and pick up some thermal compound and give this a shot. Total cost shouldn't run you anymore than $15. Once you get everything put back together, listen for the fan speed. If it sounds like it's racing than you've probably got the screws too tight or not tight enough. If you get 2, 3, or 4 rings, once again, re check the tightness of the screws and try again. Finally, if you still don't have video or the video is good and then goes bad again.....Check The Tighness Of The Screws :D
Hope this helps a little bit.

  • I have this problem , Turn on my Xbox 360 on MOnitor ViewSonic "22", Firstly it's working well . Monitor resolution max 1680/1050 , Then i go to the Xbox DIsplay setings and change resolution to 1980/1600 , Then i go to the game , playing mby 5 min and my display turned off ( No digital signal ) , I try to holdyng Y + RT ( restart have but nothing ) plz HELP ME !

  • @1nsan3tranc3 did you try it on another monitor? it might be your monitor overheating if it is a plasma lcd tv. if it does it for any system then it would be your monitor if not then either a setting issue or your xbox not having enough preasure on the gpu.

  • Amateur hour BEWARE. DO NOT DO THIS TO YOUR XBOX 360!!! It wrecks and xbox and warps the board. It may work for a while but when it breaks again it's done for good. You need to reball it with better solder. Do not use Arctic Silver 5, too much cure time, use MX4. Before your Xbox breaks put on a TR-360 with MX-4. I thought everyone knew this by now.

  • @AkabaneOtaku and if so or not what method would you recommend at this stage?*

  • Hey luke i repaired 3 xbox 360 using your method which all i used was the penny trick thanks to the guy who invented it lol and thanks for your easy explanation tutorial on the problems, my question is simple, i have one that was fixed for like 3 days i stopped playing it for like 3 days then i recently tried to play on it and it was again no video but sound on problem i cant do towel trick cause it wont overheat lol so now i ask does replacing those screws fix it? and if so or not what method

  • Thanks for this video -- I just recently performed x-clamp replacement with arctic silver because I aquired an xbox that starts with sound but no video (was told it suffered from RROD and has been in storage for over a year). My fix didn't seem to help... still no video, and my fans sound like they're running hard. I used some neoprene washers and have the heatsink screws tightened pretty loosely, but to where they resist a bit. Any suggestions? I'll go play with the tension now...

  • if you was going to resolder it what would you need to solder

  • my 6 year old xbox finally has a problem lol
