Whatever Roman Polanski has done wong in his life one cannot deny that he has led a very tortured life (mostly trhough circumstances beyond his control). The decision not to have him sent back to the States over this case was absolutely the right one. I think only when he dies will he really be at peace. MrTheodore and ammymjennings you are so right.

I'm curious...what if he did serve his time. Would you still watch his movies? criticize him for his actions? or would you think, well he paid his debt to society he should pick up and try to make the best of himself. ???? I mean seeing how the victim wants to move forward and all.

@amymjennings I totally and absolutely agree with what you said. Roman Polanski has suffered enough for 100 people. I feel like some karmic force has said "You have suffered way more than your share... you have more than earned a bit of peace" and I am personally delighted that he did not have to endure any more awfulness. When I think about this poor man's life, I am humbled. I am very glad to see that there are a few people out there who see it this way, too.
