crane incident in spain

Working offshore we were hit by sudden swellfrom passing ferry. The crane block swung uncontrollably, severing the main communication cable. This basically shut the crane down. The block (3/4 tonne in weight) continued to swing while an engineer fixed it.

they had no idea how to stop it. Crane ops at sea require training and experience. Never let your hook go untethered.
