Tacoma Homeless Project Part 1

Filmed in 2004-While I was still a junior in high school me and two of my good buddies (Luke Barbre, Robbie Baldridge) went around Tacoma Washington interviewing the homeless and general public about the issue of homelessness in the community. We gathered opinions as well as life stories for a truly touching experience and perspective.

The mission needs to upgrade there security there and check all people who stay there & drug test them!

That place is Hell!!! It is a place for Drug addicts!!!! Even though your not allowed to have drugs or do them there people do it anyways and sell drugs there also in the parking lot. Its so noticeable & No one does nothing Honestly It really jut enables them all to keep using. Take it from a former Tacoma drug addict

Ya have it all wrong, why is everyone saying bad things about the Tacoma Rescue Mission nobody told ya to end up homeless ya made those choice through bad choices in your life,those bad choice will be the foundation in your life to become homeless. this place is to help you, help your self. this is called self motivation thru faith witch is through Jesus Christ, resist the the devil and all those who work for him and save your self thru Jesus Christ .

Those guys at the mission in the office, take all the good clothes that are donated and tried to sell the good shoes to us and shit. They leave with suits and ties and everything that has nike symbols in the middle of the night. We caught them so many times, but can't say shit or we'd have to sleep outside.

lived in Tacoma at the mission for a month. People would shoot up and take shits all over the parking lot behind the building. I got sick as fuck just sleeping in the shelter. You can't do anything in the streets, like sleep or make a fire or you'll get arrested. The only other option is to live in the woods. I wasn't using anything out there, but yeah, people would smoke crack in the bathroom all night. I would sleep about 3 hours a night. The cops would be at least twice a night.

i agree with the rescue mission but what about all those drug users shooting up or smoking wright in the back or outside of the mission? That needs to be taken care of!!!! How can someone even try and recover when seeing or being around drug users and drug dealers i know they are there because i have seen when i drove by!!!! Its horrible!!

Well it looks like im going to be the 1st one to comment on our video Nate. This was a good time. I miss making videos with the crew. But ill be back home soon enough. Well have to make another evil Santa one.
