In U.S. v. Jones, the Supreme Court has held that attaching a GPS device to a vehicle and then using the device to monitor the vehicle's movements constitutes a search under the Fourth Amendment. What does this case mean for broader privacy protections under the Fourth Amendment? The Cato Institute's Jim Harper and Julian Sanchez assess the ruling.

  • Julian Sanchez is a pretty sharp guy and it's always good to hear his positions. It's also interesting to watch the facial gymnastics that he employs when speaking; he's very odd that way.

  • Blah them teeth.

  • @docsimonson

Keep listening for 13 more seconds and he says that Sotomayor "wants to get away from the retrograde third party doctrine".

    Clean out your ears friend.

  • There are no amendments left, they are gone with NDAA, and the Patriot Act, and soon to be Enemy Expatriation Act. Only one man stand against these and that's Ron Paul.

  • I love CATO and their entire staff seems a cut above and always Constitutionally directed. Mr Julian Sanchez I find to be extremely intelligent and always on target with his arguments but... And no disrespect to Mr.Sanchez in the least and I'm very sorry about this dive into immaturity but...Bueller ?!, Bueller ?! Had to get that one out, I'm all better now. thanks.

  • @tabber87 Being an American, I had to look up Mark Corrigan, but I instantly recognized him from my very favorite British game show, QI. He's very funny, but not so good as Julian on policy issues (that I know of).

  • @032125 He reminds me of an American Mark Corrigan.

  • @AngrySkeptic Go to about 2:27 and listen to what she had to say about sharing your information with a third party.

  • @docsimonson

She is, in fact, saying the exact opposite.
