"Collaborations between artists can be a tricky proposition. Success or failure is entertained in equal
measure. It is important for any artist to have a strong artistic ideology and the confidence and
determination to carry out a particular point of view. During my stay at Duende, I had the pleasure to
speak with Peter, Mirjam and André about many things. The primary essence of their respective work,
regardless of media, technique or artistic legacy, is directed toward a sense of continuity. While anyone
can argue that continuity is an essential element of any creative endeavour, it is a reflection of our
existence as finite beings. Continuity, as in art, is life itself, and artists express continuity in many
