Hi can I do this to my Final cut express4?
-
@lilbitrandom22 I've just managed to reproduce this in FCX as the matte option is available from the main menus, but not the right-click one. The glow mentioned in the video isn't present, but there are 2 glows available to play with...

I can't remember if Final Cut Express has composite modes. I don't think it does.
However, you could create the same effect using the matte key filter. So instead of performing travel - matte - alpha just through the matte key on there. It's the same idea.

Technical question here...
When I've used your technique and subsequently applied a fade-in/out or dissolve transition...I encounter a problem.
Namely, the last few frames of the transition, as the letter begins to appear, are opaque. As the transition ceases and the clip takes over, it reverts back to the transparent letter.
Any ideas?

Hi,
You'll need to perform an extra step before trying to dissolve out of the title. You need to nest all the layers together into a single clip segment. Then you should be able to dissolve from the title correctly.

Hi, just delete the background layer on V1. That should work.
