(Death Cab for Cutie-Ben Gibbard) +
(Dntel- Jimmy Tamborello) = The Postal Service

Owl city =Adam Young plus some other folks...
Young is joined by Breanne Duren on several tracks; the most noted being "The Saltwater Room." Owl City's live band consists of: Breanne Duren (background vocals/keyboards), Matthew Decker (drums), Laura Musten (violin), and Hannah Schroeder (cello).

(wikipedia, 2009)

I know wiki isn't super credible but it works for this context.

i dnt see how owl city could be ripping off the postal service. they're the same particular genre of music sure but does that mean we should pay out on every rock band cuz they have similar sounds.
this song has a solid beat where as owl city songs are more mellow. both equally good and have distinct differences
