I remember playing my Grandmother's "Okeh", "Victor", and "RCA" 78s on her Victrola phonograph that used no electricity and needed winding up with the crank handle after about 3 records. I agree with "NEVER diss the HISS!"

never mind the hiss, surely this band deserved recognition for helping other musicians to gain fame.

I frequently play 78s at a local nursing home. The folks there love 'em and never " diss the hiss". And yes, I agree this band was a launching pad for many great musicians.

jaregetsacookie, I've retired the one you see in this video. Now I use a 1964 Magnavox Micromatic. I've retro fitted it with a modern Sure cartridge, and process the signal through some vintage analog equipment.
