Suzanne Bonamici Visits Community College and Job Retraining Programs in Astoria

http://bit.ly/pdKiyK Suzanne Bonamici recently visited the main campus of Clatsop Community College and the Marine and Environmental Research and Training Station in Astoria. Suzanne knows first hand how important community colleges are. She started her college education at Lane Community College in Eugene.

During the visit Suzanne met with community college officials to discuss college credit acceleration programs for high schools students and job retraining programs. In the legislature, Suzanne supported a bill that sets standards for college credit acceleration courses that saves students and families money on tuition costs.

Suzanne also knows that community colleges play an important role in getting people back to work by offering job retraining programs for adults who have lost their job through no fault of their own.
