well said people the world needs a treaty that calls for a total ban on nuclear weapons in ALL countries Nukes have served a wonderful purpose already of keeping the world from going to war but now there are equally powerful non nukes which can fill the void. lndia will happily sign a total nuke ban treaty.

NPT is not about signing a paper it is about biding the rules of NPT. India bides to every single rules although they never signed it while you signed it and proliferate nuclear technology and weapons to Israel. Now you can shit the f**k up. Thank you. As a congresswoman, she makes a fair argument. However, the real problem is with the NPT itself. NPT is not a gold standard because, for decades, the NPT has been constantly violated by the NPT signatories themselves. The sanctity of the NPT was already jeopardized when the NPT signatories neither reduced existing stockpiles of nukes nor stopped nuke proliferation to rogue states.
I will not be surprised if India signs the NPT/CTBT in next 2-3 years.

Rep. Lee doesn't know what she is talking about. The deal only allows the sale and trade of nuclear technology, not weapons. And besides, India isn't going to give up it's nuclear weapons, and it has democratic institutions that would prevent abuse...unlike N. Korea and Iran.

If you really want countries to follow a treaty then come up with something fair. NPT is a joke and yes Indians will laugh at it and will never sign it yet they will get all the benefits and you will give it cause deep in heart you also know how shit it is. Having India out of it, NPT won't survive longer cause nothing can stop then from proliferate cause they never signed the treaty and built the technology all by themselves. They can sell whoever they want and everyone wants it as you know.
