@chosenangelx That doesn't matter. They tested the core statement of the conspiracy theorists claim, that a flag can't move, at all, in a vacuum. And the claim came up wanting.
it doesn't matter what we do there are always goof balls out there to say we didn't . Thats like the old Joke that hit on the note anything President Bush did was wrong. If he walked on water the papers would read "Bush Can't swim"
It has also been said that the world is flat, and that disease is caused by evil spirits. Both of which are more likely true than that 6 feet of lead claim.
The Earth ranges between 152,000,000km and 147,000,000km from the Sun, The Moon ranges from 363,000km and 406,000km from the Earth. So no that miniscule change doesn't produce "extreme heat and cold". No atmosphere of course results in more extreme heat and cold, but no more than in Earth orbit.
As far as heat and cold go, the spacecraft has insulation. Honestly, do you think engineers wouldn't have thought about the effects of heat and cold? Also, a quarter of a million miles isn't really that much difference in distance from the sun as far as how much thermal energy you recieve.
I've yet to see any qualified aerospace engineer say that 6 feet of lead is needed to safely pass through the VABs. That's actually a misquote, taken from a book written by John H. Mauldin. Mauldin was speculating on hull materials for an interstellar spacecraft that would spend decades on traveling in space. The claim that Mauldin referred to Apollo is a lie, estentially.

i didnt even know that the flag post had TWO rods that fit the flag on like that.
Thanks for the post!
Hubble doesn't have enough resolution to see the lunar lander. You must have one damn huge telescope :)
