I had an old jazz musician tell me, when I said my sax sounded good but I hated all the scratches, to take some salt and rub it into my eyes until the scratches don't bother me anymore. So true, if it plays good, that is what matters.

If you're technical you can remove all the mechanics and then wash the sax under running, warm water with a little bit of detergents. Then take a cloth and wipe the sax, before putting back the mech's. If you're not that technical, you can use the cloth on reachable surfaces without removing the mech's, and as a complementary use brushes or similar for difficult areas, just like in the video. Maybe it doesn't become as nice as with a Dremel, but it shure prolongs the life cykle of the sax.

Rouge is a kind of metal polish. It is very fine, and used to bring out the shine on softer metals. You can get it at any industrial supply store.

What equipment? All you need is a dremmel tool and some buffing compound (available in any hobby store).
Lemon Pledge and Q Tips should already be around the house.
