This is better than the electric mandolin. on electric, the plectrum is an annoying noise to pick up. Try playing along with fidle or guitar accompanyment. I'm sure you could do it. Or, if you don't use vista, try a split screen video. :) Lets see hava nagila, or some wedding music :)

Hmm, I'd say that the two "best" mandolin players are Andy Irvine and the late Coley Jones, but it all a matter of opinion. The mandolin sounds great, I think, in klezmer. Nice playing on this clip by the way!
your incorrect sir the mandolin is indeed purely italian designed instrument that was developed from the arabic oud but as being used internationally you are correct but dont forget its italian roots

The mandolin is not Jewish, Italian or American. It is international, inter-cultural. It has its roots in Arab culture, even spread into parts of Africa. What can you not do with a mandolin, if you put your mind to it?
