Yes but these jobs are not the typical cheap chinese labor. This is high end stuff by chinese standards, they're paying their workers a lot more than the norm, if they did the smart thing, they'd restrict their hours. The chinese model of growth, relies on some pseudo theory that the chinese are machines. Their no different from anyone else, you give the industry ten years, and half the work forces will be suffering from serious repetitive strain/stress issues.

China enables this behaviour at every workplace in their country. Slavery does still very much exist in 2012 china and it's not going anywhere soon.

Wow someone is fast to judge. DO you know ANYTHING about me? Or are you just a bitter someone who thinks just by avoiding Apple products, you're saving the world from slavery? Look around your house, and count the products you have with MADE IN CHINA on it. If you don't have any, THEN come back to me and call me an idiot. 神经病,没知识还跟人比。叫人家笨,自己先看自己多么没家教才来
闹。先在的美国人啊, 无话说了。 -
You are an idiot who wants to remove his guilt from buying apple trash. Only an insecure fool lookingfor social acceptance wastes money on apple crap.
-
I can't blame Apple for this. China and their pathetic labor laws cause all of this
-
the problem is , if you start putting regulation like that in China ( which they dont want to ) , works will slowly move out from the country . the cheap and flexible human resources in china is one of the main reason why we are outsourcing to China . Take that away and there's no reason to stay .This is none of apple business , or any company but the Chinese gorvernment , foxconn and the workers . they have to work it out themselves . no foreign power/company is going to come in and change shit

I could care less about how apples subcontracts support their workers. But this video is such a blatant conflict of interest, and extremely misleading. This is a propaganda peace nothing more.
The issue isn't wages, it's how the mental health of these people are suffering in very real terms. It's not just economic growth, it's mental slavery. Suicides rates sky rocket when humans are put in ill adapted environments. Restricting number of hours worked should be there main goal.
-
Yes! Well said, it always pisses me off when people talks about how Apple treat their employees in China, they have nothing to do with them, it's an outsourcing, all the major companies do it.. If they want to blame the contractor then go for Nintendo, Samsung and Sony as well.

Those workers are under FOXCONN not Apple. So Apple's wealth does not affect the worker's pay. Plus, Foxconn makes products for other companies too. Didn't you watch the first half of the video?!

Yeah. But Apple knows that Foxconn does this and they think it's "all right". And BTW. Just stop buying Apple and Samsung products. Then you're safe from supporting child slavery.
