  • Moonlight in the sky On the Forest Trail the Scent of the Leopard My Heart is like Deer In the Silence of this night, which way am I going? The silvery shadow of leaves on my body No more deer anywhere As far as I go I see the moon bent like a sickle Cutting the last golden deer-grain Then sinking slowly Into the darkness of all the sleep In the eyes of a 100 does.

  • Interesting fact about this song: apparently Kamal had booked a different music director for this film and had already filmed this song. After the other music director dropped out of the project, Kamal approached Maestro Illaiyaraja and wanted him to come up with something for the existing footage. Luckily, the actors do not lipsync the song. But Kamal does play the piano in the song, and so Illaiyaraja matched this composition to match the piano-playing the best as he could. Beautiful.

  • Nice song !!! Maestro Illayaraja ....Greatest composition ever !!!

  • Lyrics is by genius Kamal Hasan. He excels in what ever he do.

  • whenever i hear this song my eyes tears , raja sir...... soulful song

  • @vinodrecreator I think it has deep sexual imagery.

  • @newsjunkieish Anyhow in this song nothing directly describe sexuality, Bangla kobita in this song sounds very sweet.

  • @vinodrecreator Poem by Bangla modern poet Jibonanda, spoke frankly of sexuality and such like matters.

  • Greatest composition of maestro illayaraja...
