  • Very nice job of showing how to match your transmitter to the transmission line with the use of a antenna turner. I am sure it has made a little more sense to many people..Keep up the good work. Ron KA3WEL

  • I find that using an antenna analyzer to be the best method. When you don't have to worry about causing interferance or blowing the finals it becomes a fun process. Write down the settings for a few frequencies on each band so that you are well in the ball park when you go back on the air. Analyzers are now resonably priced and the simplest one will do the job;we're just tuning an AT,not designing sophisticated antennae. Thanks for the video.

  • @tylergig Before matching the antenna to the radio via the ATU/AMU, The operator should tune into a dummy load, to maximise the output for that frequency into the 50 ohm dummy load. However after tuneup, and assuming the antenna is not resonant at the TX freq that the radio was tuned up for, the impedance of the antenna will NOT match the 50 ohm into to the radio and thus has to be "MATCHED TO THE RADIO", which of course is what your video is all about.

  • Nice job but now explain the procedure when you are also dealing with PLATE and LOAD controls on the transmitter. The interaction between plate and load and the tuning caps and inductor in the tuner... Always seemed to be a hit and miss proposition to me

  • Thanks for your time and "teaching" us the proper way to do this. The questions not asked are never answered and you answered mine without asking
