As a marine, I know LCpl Perez is guarding the gates of Heaven. This season is hard on all of us who have lost brothers and sons. Y'all are in my prayers, Merry Christmas, Semper Fi, and most importantly God bless your family for his sacrifice.

I saw this video back when I was a Freshman in highschool, and although I had been flirting with the idea, I knew for sure I wanted to be a Marine after watching this. I graduated in June and I ship out September 19th, and I can't tell the future, but I know one thing, that I will watch this video before I leave and I will always keep Richard Perez Jr in my thoughts, even though I never met him and found out about him after his death, he's impacted me and is a hero to me.

I want to take the time to tell you that I feel safer at night knowing that there are people in the service that risk their live so that I can live a risk free one! The last thing I want to say is that to me he is a hero and I am thankful for his time and protection!
