NO TORCH THROUGH TIBET: TIBETAN INDEPENDENCE TORCH NEW YORK CITY 2008
On June 18, 2001, the Chinese Government initially planned to run the Beijing Olympic Torch through the streets of Lhasa, Tibet, the capital of the Tibetan Autonomous Zone. It seems the Chinese Government has decided to postpone the torch relay until June 21, 2008, and is possibly considering talks with His Holiness the Dalai Lama instead. The Chinese Government faces a tremendous opportunity at this time in history. The Chinese authorities can potentiallly serve as a bridge between China and the rest of the world, and bring about a culture of global peace. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is now considered the world leader, someone who can unite all people in true harmony. One world—one dream—free Tibet now.
