Extraordinary! She was probably the last of the classic gospel blues singers; and doesn't she wail. What young singer could match her bluesy runs and instinctive moans? Not to mention that volume and breath control-- see the brilliant ad lib on the song's eighth word, "all." Her "Move On Up" gives her pal Mahalia Jackson a run for the money ... and she had much better time than Halie.

Bram as I & My family affectionately called her, have been close since the 40's. Long before Bro. Bibby arrived. I'll miss taking her places whenever I was in presence.

OMG !! .. i cant believe this woman was in her 90s and still had this much great control over her voice .... i remember watching the clips of her from the 60's from tv gospel time and she still sounds the same !! ... it only goes to show that if you are a true servant HE will preserve u and provide Longevity !!
