More than 200 police officers carried out a pre-emptive raid in England early on Monday, arresting 114 people thought to be preparing a protest at the Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station in Nottinghamshire. On Tuesday it emerged that while those detainees were being held, officers raided homes around the UK, seizing computer equipment and mobile phone records. Campaigners say it's an attempt to chill major demonstrations planned for the summer.

We speak to Mel Evans of Climate Camp and Tim Greene a criminal defense specialist who has defended members of various animal rights groups on the impact of the crackdown and whether more raids can be expected.
