The Quadrantid meteors come from asteroid 2003 EH1, first discovered in 1825. The Quadrantids were named after the constellation from which the meteors appear to originate, Quadrans Muralis, which is located between the constellations of Bootes and Draco.

Each frame in the video is a 14 second exposure. This 10 second video covers an 8 1/2 minute time frame. Shot with a Canon 5D mk II, 24-70mm f/2.8 L by Mark Maskell.

*You must view it in full screen 1080p HD to see all 12 meteors visible in this video. The video compression in lower resolutions completely hides the fainter meteors.*
