Precious footage! SERA - The Southern Electric Railway Association - is currently working on restoring two of these Class 501 Driving Motor Cars to operational condition, a trailer car is needed to complete the set. Give them your support and hopefully one day we'll see this unit working again!

I used to get this B4 train from Acton Central to Richmond every Summer in the 1970s to go swimming as a kid--this has REALLY taken me back to those lovely old trains and the noise as well!

Hello - is the driver in the video still working on the trains? I used to be a guard on that line from about 1979 to 1985.
