@TheSepaugh I was being very sarcastic. Safin was incredibly injury prone. My goodness...

@MaratSafinVideos luck or incredible fitness? and a style of game that doesnt demand as much physical activity as nadal, monfils, del potro or others that have a game that revolve around physicality(if thats a word) lol
-
@TheSepaugh Yes, he was also very lucky in the fact he never got injured..............

@TheWindupDream safin was definatly NEVER unstoppable lol and hwoever sais taht is retarded. But he will always be one of my favorites to watch because of his ability to hit winners. Now youve got to admit, if he didnt cry all the time and had worked on his mental ability he possibly could have won a few more right? the tennis skill was all their

Up to end of 2006 from 2004 to 2006, federer had a 6-2 losing record against nadal. does that mean that federer is nowhere near the league of nadal? H2H records don't tell the whole story many times. Safin's attitude, way of thinking, and injuries had more to do with his losses. Safin has a 7-6 record against hrbaty, a player he's much much better than in every facet of the game. he has a 1-9 record against santoro, a player he's much better than. H2H's don't reflect Safin's tennis ability.

@TheWindupDream I wouldnt comment on that cause they never played but Safins game was basically a more powerful version of Djokovics, big serves and backhand. Safin had a 100% record against Djokovic, even until his retirement. Djokovic has a 100% record against nadal this year. If nadal cant breakdown djokovics game how can he breakdown safins game?

@TheWindupDream That one match was when Federer was on his peak, on a streak. let me put this in perspective. Federer cannot lose playing like that. Yet he did. Im not denying the fact that he lost more times than he won. He definitely couldnt stay consistent. But yet, when he did, nothing would stop him. My point being that Safin is AT LEAST as capable as whoever you think is best. look how he trashed Sampras in the US Open 2000 final, 6-4, 6-2, 6-3 i think.

@Ansatsouken I will have to agree with that, except the talent part. If we go talent for talent, peak for peak, its undeniably safin on top. Roger Federer wasnt the one stopping marat safin from winning more slams, marat safin was. And there is no typo error.

@thatmusikman I know Safin beat him in 5.... I even remember Roger uncharacteristically going for a 'tweener on an important point.... But Safin didn't have the mettle to beat him day in day out. He was mentally volatile and would blow matches all the time. Hewitt's heart in Safin's body = doom. But because that's impossible, Federer trumps them both for talent, legacy, achievements and composure.
It's absolutely ridiculous for a man of Safin's talent to only win two majors.
