@SoapsGoldenAge I never did like Joan Collins as Alex. after poor Beverlee left, they should have just hired Marj instead of trying to hire Miss Collins.

Beverlee owned the role. Marj was a good Alex, but she had HUGE shoes to fill. IMO BMcK was one of the top talents ever to hit daytime, not that Marj was lacking. But kind of like Linda Gray replacing Meryl Streep. I love Linda but c'mon. As for Joan--it was a stunt and of course they had to try. She's world famous. But she couldn't even pretend to do an American accent? Really?

Was this when Beverlee became sick? I remember when Marj took over the role. I liked her too. But only because I remembered her from The Facts Of Life, when she played Blair Warner's Mom Monica.

@Sheri451 i don't remember the time table, but Beverlee McKinsey had left some time before Alexandra returned to Springfield..it may have been a couple of years before Marj Dusay took over the role....

(sigh) If only it had been a promo telling us BEVERLEE McKINSEY's "Alexandra" was back....
this week was 18 years since she left the show....(Tues. Aug. 17th 1992)
